Wintergreen Lake Resort, nestled in the serene Park Falls, Wisconsin, boasts a stellar rating of 4.7 and is a hidden gem for food enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Situated at W4945 Wintergreen Lake Rd, this cozy resort draws visitors not only for its culinary delights but also for its breathtaking views of Wintergreen Lake.

The charm of Wintergreen Lake Resort is unmistakable, characterized by its warm, family-friendly atmosphere. As Diane Noland emphasizes, no visit is complete without trying the pan-fried walleye. "Once you try it," she asserts, "you will always want to go back.” This sentiment is echoed by numerous guests who have become regulars, drawn back by the unbeatable flavors and the welcoming community.

For those who appreciate a good fish fry, the resort presents an authentic experience. As noted by Joe Mace and Dj Woodservice, the portions are generous, and the restaurant’s small kitchen, while slightly slow, produces remarkable home-cooked meals. The dining area is intimate—perfect for a close-knit gathering—making every meal feel special. Virginia Cheney captures the essence of this place when she reminisces about the mouthwatering fish fry that has her counting the days until her next visit. Visitors often leave with smiles, satisfied and eager to return.

Beyond just food, Wintergreen Lake Resort offers a variety of activities catering to different interests and ages, making it an ideal family destination. The sparkling Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest nearby provides ample opportunities for hiking, boating, and sightseeing, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Michael Desrosier humorously mentions the vintage accommodations, including some '70s charm, which adds to the character of the resort. Each room provides the essentials, including pots and pans, encouraging guests to embrace a homely cooking experience after a day of adventure.

Amidst the natural beauty and delightful dining, the heart of Wintergreen Lake Resort lies in its people. Gary’s infectious humor and the gracious service from Ashley and the chief cook, referred to fondly as "Mom," warmly envelopes guests, ensuring a memorable experience filled with laughter and good company. Eric Kellesvig reiterates that this is indeed a place where everyone feels at home, making it worth the journey, regardless of the distance.

In summary, Wintergreen Lake Resort is not just another stop; it is an idyllic retreat away from the hustle, where food, family, and nature harmonize perfectly. For those seeking a genuine, downhome experience coupled with top-notch fish fry and spectacular views, Wintergreen Lake Resort awaits.

I suggest that you try it, once and I know if you love pan-fried walleye I guarantee you will never want to eat anywhere else and you will always want to go back. Know matter how long you need to wait. Cash only we didn't know that. This complete stranger gave us the cash to pay for the rest of the meal. We didn't have enough cash. We've been there three times now bringing other family members. We finally ran into this super awesome guy a few weeks ago. Gave him back the money he gave us to pay for the rest of the meal and then some. Well, I guess there are still some nice people still out there. Thank God for that, right !!

Great fish fry, very healthy portions. They have a very small kitchen so it can take a while to get your food. The dining room is also very small, maybe room for 10 at the bar, maybe 25 in the rest of the sitting area. Also, choices are limited. The food is very good as long as everyone in your party can find something in the menu.

Food is absolutely incredible, plan a little wait due to small kitchen and home cooked portions come very hungry and prices are very reasonable for portions size. Beer is guaranteed to be ice cold weekend food wintergreen is the place to go. Friday night fish fry( only thing on Friday night menu) is top notch. View from the bar is very enjoyable

We love this place and Gary and all of them! It’s been since 2021 since we’ve been there, but we’ll be there all summer this year! Can hardly wait. I actually drooled a little looking at the fish fry food!!

The owners are awesome and hilarious. Spent 5 days here and had a great time. The lake has some nice fish in it. Trails are fun. Nice community fire pit. Being an air mattress to sleep on lol. The beds were made in 1970 and they have the same mattresses from 1970 on them. The water was hot The rooms were clean they come with pots pans and silverware so you can just buy food and cook it. Each room has a refrigerator and an oven /stove. No TVs no phones no cell phone service The perfect getaway from the city.

Fish Fry Friday’s is a whole new experience at the Wintergreen Bar & Restaurant. Situated overlooking Wintergreen Lake with beautiful views and the down home Family Hospitality with Gary at the Bar, Ashley serving kindness, goodness and Mom( I just know her name as mom) cooking the most magnificent Fish Fry. Walleye, Haddock or Frog Legs with Packer Potatoes, Green Beans, Cole Slaw and a slice of Bread. The Packer Potatoes are like nothing I have ever had. Delicious! Such a unique tater and it goes on to Green Beans in a light creamy sour sauce that makes me crave them and fall in love with Green Beans. I know that is saying a lot about a green bean dish but it is true!!! We had the Walleye! It is lightly covered with a delicious blanket of crisp flavor and sautéed. Get there early and often. Yum!

Probably the best fish fry in the Northwoods. Place is appropriately small. You have to get there early, like blue hair early, to get in line for dinner. Love to stop in for a beer while on the trails.

If you've never had the pan fried walleye your truly missing out on a great Friday fish fry. It appears Vicki does most of the work, but Gary's quick wit and dynamic personality will keep you going back. A short ride and worth every mile. A place that makes everyone feel comfortable. I highly recommend, and not after one visit, after several great experiences.
